Privacy Policy

Joblin watches company career pages and tells you about new jobs that match what you're looking for. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account details: your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google or Facebook. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider (Google Firebase) and are never visible to us.
  • Job search preferences: the job titles, locations and remote preferences you choose, and the companies you track.
  • Job activity: the jobs we match for you and whether you saved or marked them as applied.
  • Resume: if you upload or paste one, we keep its text and your latest 30 saved versions (plus any version you sent with a job application) so you can look back at what you sent. For a file you upload, we also keep the original file so you can download it again. Files are held in private, access-restricted storage, are never shared by link, and are only returned to you after you sign in. When a version is removed, or you delete your resume or your account, its text and file are deleted; a deleted file can remain in a short-term safety backup for up to 7 days before it is permanently erased. Our AI providers read the text to convert and review it, and the Joblin assistant can read the versions you ask it about. The current version is also kept with OpenAI so the assistant can search it when you ask about your experience; that copy is replaced when you save a new version and deleted when you delete your resume or your account. You can delete your resume any time on the Resume page, and you can choose whether recruiters on Joblin may see it (there are none yet).
  • Feedback: if you send us feedback, we keep your message, the page you were on, whether you were on a phone, any screenshot you attach and the email address of your account so we can reply. Screenshots are held in private, access-restricted storage that only the Joblin team can open. We email the team a daily summary of new feedback. Please don't include anything in a screenshot you don't want us to see. To have your feedback deleted, email contact@joblin.work.
  • Phone number: if you turn on interview text alerts.
  • Gmail (optional): if you connect Gmail for interview alerts, we get read-only access. We look at the sender, subject and a short preview of recent messages to spot interview invitations, and keep only the sender and subject of messages identified as interviews. We never send, delete or change your email.
  • Chat: your conversations with the Joblin assistant are saved to your account, as separate chats you can name, reorder and open later on any device, and the assistant reads the recent messages of the chat you are in to answer you. You can delete any chat at any time from your chat list, and all of them are deleted with your account. Conversations can also appear in session recordings (see below), so please don't put sensitive personal details such as health or financial information into the chat.

Google user data

Joblin's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In practice: we use Gmail data only to spot interview invitations and alert you; our AI provider processes the short preview only to return that result; we don't use Gmail data for advertising or to train AI models, we don't sell it, and no one at Joblin reads it except where you ask for support or the law requires it.

How we use it

  • To find and show you matching jobs, and to email you new matches.
  • To send interview text alerts, if you turn them on.
  • To suggest companies and job titles, and to power the Joblin assistant.
  • To keep the service secure and working, and to contact you about your account.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Services that process your data for us

  • Google Cloud and Firebase - hosting, database and sign-in.
  • Anthropic - the AI that powers suggestions, resume review and interview detection.
  • OpenAI - the AI behind the Joblin assistant chat. It keeps your chats and your resume text for the assistant, until you delete them (or your account), and it receives the text of the job postings you ask the assistant about (job postings are public).
  • Resend - sending email, and telling us when an email is opened or a link in it is clicked.
  • LogRocket - session recordings and usage statistics (see below).
  • Twilio - sending text messages.
  • Google and Meta (Facebook) - only if you choose to sign in with them.

They may only use your information to provide their service to Joblin.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your information while your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time - see how to delete your data. You can also unsubscribe from job emails with the link in any of them, turn off interview alerts in Settings, and remove Joblin's Gmail access at any time in your Google Account.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your information, or to object to how we use it. To make a request, email .

Email opens and clicks

The emails we send you (job matches, and account emails such as sign-in verification) can include a tiny invisible image and tracked links. They let our email provider tell us whether and when you opened an email, and which link you clicked. We use this to see whether our emails are reaching and helping people, and to improve them; we do not use it for advertising or sell it.

We keep the email address, the kind of email, the time, and for a click the link, for 90 days. We do not keep your IP address or details of your device from these events. Opens are not always accurate: some email apps load images for you, and others block them. To avoid open tracking, turn off image loading in your email app. You can also unsubscribe from job emails with the link in any of them.

Session recordings and usage statistics

To find and fix problems and improve Joblin, we use LogRocket to record how people use the app: the screens you see, where you click and scroll, which features you use, and your conversations with the Joblin assistant (what you ask and what it answers), so we can see how it is used and improve it. What we do not record:

  • anything you type into a form field, other than what you write to the Joblin assistant, the job titles you add and the place you search for when setting up (every other field is masked);
  • the email address and phone number shown on screen;
  • the contents of requests the app sends to our servers, including your login details;
  • secret codes in links (for example in password-reset and unsubscribe links), your IP address, and the pages that show them.

Recordings are linked to your internal account ID and your account email address, so we can find your session if you contact us for help; we don't send your name or phone number. We don't currently treat your browser's Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals as a request to stop recording. In Europe we ask for your permission first. You can turn recording off here at any time:

Cookies and browser storage

We store small pieces of information in your browser to keep you signed in and remember choices like onboarding progress and your recording preference. LogRocket also sets an identifier in your browser to tie a session's activity together. We don't use advertising cookies.

Children

Joblin is not intended for anyone under 16.
